Company Background

Three Rivers Pharmaceuticals® is a privately held company with Corporate Headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA, just outside of Pittsburgh. The company was formed in April 2000 with the mission of developing, manufacturing, and distributing pharmaceutical drug products.

In April 2004, Three Rivers Pharmaceuticals received Final Approval from the U.S. FDA (Food & Drug Administration) to market its first generic product, Ribasphere® (ribavirin capsules), 200mg. In keeping with its focus of anti-viral therapy, the company received FDA approval for Ribasphere® (ribavirin, USP) Tablets in December 2005.

Also in 2005, Three Rivers acquired the broad-spectrum intravenous antifungal AMPHOTEC®/AMPHOCIL® (Amphotericin B Cholesteryl Sulfate Complex for Injection). This brand pharmaceutical product has a strong international presence and further solidifies the company’s commitment to specialty therapy. Most recently, Three Rivers Pharmaceuticals acquired Infergen®, a branded consensus interferon, from Valeant Pharmaceuticals.

Three Rivers Pharmaceuticals will continue to expand its product offerings in highly specialized therapeutic disease categories, since the company has a strong experience in this area. The company is dedicated to providing disease state education programs, improving patient access, and becoming a progressive influence in the healthcare industry.
